We are thrilled to be part of the 2023 Tasting Australia Festival program, offering an intimate food and wine experience for 20 people on the shores of our family owned Flinders Island, Eyre Peninsula.
Located 35km Southwest of Elliston in the Investigator Group of Islands, the Woolford family have been its sole inhabitants since 1979, substantiating a deep connection with the land and sea and a desire to share the lifestyle they have been so lucky to live.
Guests will be in for an exciting day trip departing Adelaide via private plane charter with Hartwig Air direct to Flinders Island where they will be immersed in all things abalone, Eyre Peninsula seafood, and Dowie Doole Wines. The day will involve decadent pairings both on the island and out to sea on a new 12m purpose built fast landing craft, where guests will have the rare opportunity to see abalone harvesting in action.
Back on land guests will have the opportunity to explore the secluded coastline of the Flinders Island homestead bay before being treated to a long lunch in the charming waterfront homestead, prepared by renowned Barossa Chef Peter Clarke of Vitners Bar & Grill Tanunda. Seafood will feature in this dreamy Tasting Australia menu, paired perfectly with a selection of premium Dowie Doole wines.
As the day wraps up, guests will be treated to spectacular view of the rugged coastline towards Topgallant Isles, and the wider Eyre Peninsula coastline on the return trip to Adelaide airport.
