Island Stay

Flinders Island Eco Escape is a secluded 4000ha off grid island retreat located 35km south west of Elliston Eyre Peninsula, in the Investigator Group Islands. Welcoming just one group of guests at a time in our absolute beachfront accommodation, offers a chance to exclusively live and feel the freedom of the island lifestyle.

Flinders Island Safe Haven

Our island paradise will soon be home to nationally threatended mammal species!  The Flinders Island Safe Haven Project eradication phase was completed in 2025, reintroductions will occur following success checks.  Meanwhile the current population of bird and reptile species will naturally thrive!

Biosecurity

Our island is PEST FREE, are you?  To ensure the success of the Flinders Island Safe Haven Project and to prevent invasive species reaching our shores, biosecurity requirements for ALL visitors to the island will be in place from January 2025. The simple steps we take will make a huge difference.

The Woolford family are collaborating with the Australian Government, Department for Environment and Water, and the Eyre Peninsula Landscape Board to restore Flinders Island to its natural state and to create a Safe Haven for threatened species.

Visitors are key partners in protecting Flinders Island from unwanted pests and diseases. From the moment you pack your bags to when you step ashore, every action you take can contribute to conservation.

Pests like mice, rats, spiders, beetles, and seeds can significantly impact the unique ecosystem of Flinders Island. Preventing pests from making their way to the island is the most effective step in the biosecurity chain.

From January 2026 each person travelling to Flinders Island plays a crucial role in managing the biosecurity risk their trip poses. The simple steps that you take make all the difference!
